12th Annual Memorial Gentleman Jake
Cornhole Tournament
ABOUT
The Team Jakey Foundation was founded in 2014 after losing Jake Zeller to suicide.
As a way to honor Jake, the Zeller family came together and hosted the inaugural Gentleman Jake Memorial Cornhole Tournament that brought friends and family together and raised $2,400 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
Over ten years later, Team Jakey fights to End the Stigma with community events, local partnerships, and speaking engagements. Team Jakey has raised over $400,000 for the AFSP and Provident Behavioral Health in St. Louis.
IMPACT
Over $400,000 raised for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and Provident Behavioral Health St. Louis.
Worked side by side with St. Louis area organizations and companies, including St. Louis CITY SC, and Keeley Construction, to provide education and awareness surrounding mental health and suicide prevention.
Team Jakey member, the late Mike Otten spearheaded the launch of MLS’ Tackle the Struggle initiative, in which the St. Louis SC received an award from the MLS.
Team Jakey member, Sam Zeller, appeared onthe AFSP’s Survivor Day 2023 panel discussion broadcast nationwide.
Appearances on KMOV and KTRS The Big D Show With Heidi Glaus.
Appearances and collaborations with the Mostly Superheroes Podcast, More To Say with Randi Naughton, and Fox 2 News.
Featured as 4 Hands’ Charity on Tap at Alamo Drafthouse.
